Easy! Use Xmarks to synchronize your bookmarks across multiple computers and different browsers!

It’s very easy to install and setup Xmarks for your browser, and it works with Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari! We’ll cover the setup steps for Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Xmarks setup for Internet Explorer

  1. Open up Internet Explorer, go to http://www.xmarks.com/, and click on “Install Now”.
  2. Next, click on the “Download Xmarks” button.
  3. Then, click on the “Run” button to download and start the installation.
  4. You will then have to click “Run” again when the security warning appears.
  5. When the Xmarks installer appears, click “Next”.
  6. Read and accept the EULA agreement, then click “Next” again.
  7. Click “Next” on the installation directory unless you would like to install Xmarks in a different place.
  8. Then, click “Install” to run the installation.
  9. After the installation is complete, it will ask you if you would like to install thumbnail previews. I usually choose to “Skip Thumbnails and Finish”, but this is up to you.
  10. Next, we have the Xmarks Setup Wizard that will allow us to create a new Xmarks account and synchronize our bookmarks. (Note: Refer to the account setup steps below to create your Xmarks account.)
  11. Finally, click the “Synchronize” button on the screen to perform the initial bookmarks synchronization.

Xmarks setup for Mozilla Firefox

  1. Open up Firefox, go to http://www.xmarks.com/, and click on “Install Now”.
  2. Next, click on the “Download Xmarks” button.
  3. Then, click on the “Allow” button in the yellow bar.
  4. You will then click “Install Now” to install the extension for Firefox.
  5. After the extension installs, click “Restart Firefox”.
  6. When Firefox relaunches your home page, click on the Xmarks image that appears.
  7. You’re now at the Xmarks Setup Wizard where you can create or login to your account and synchronize your bookmarks. (Note: Refer to the account setup steps below to create your Xmarks account.)
  8. After you setup or login to your account, Xmarks for Firefox has a few extra options to synchronize your passwords, tabs, etc. You can tell the wizard “Yes” or “No” to any of these options. Lastly, click the “Finish” button to complete the setup.

  1. If you are a new Xmarks user, click “No” and “Next” to create a new Xmarks account.
  2. Enter in a desired username, valid email address, and password, then click “Next”.
  3. It should say that your account was successfully created. Click “Next” and “Finish”.
  4. If you already have an Xmarks account, on the account setup screen, click “Yes” to login with your existing account.
  5. Enter your current username or email address and password, then click “Next”.
  6. The wizard should then say that you’re successfully logged in!
